Capabilities and roles

How in-house, forward-only and hybrid roles change what you see across the app.

In-houseForward-onlyHybrid

Your business has two independent capabilities: In-house repairs (you fix things yourself) and Forward to a supplier (you take products in and send them on). At least one must be on, and you can turn the other on at any time.

The combination gives you a role the app uses to decide what to show you:

  • In-house — only in-house repairs is on.
  • Forward-only — only forwarding is on.
  • Hybrid — both are on, with two pipelines you switch between.

Turning a capability on or off

Go to Settings → Capabilities. The first time you switch the second capability on, you'll see a preview of the default stages it will create. After that, toggling is instant.

You can't turn off the only capability you have left — the app prevents it. Switching one off doesn't delete your stages, templates or rules; it just hides the parts of the app that don't apply.

What this changes in the app

  • The sidebar hides sections that aren't relevant (Claims and Demo Stock disappear for forward-only).
  • The new-repair picker — "Where is this repair going?" — shows different destinations.
  • Warranty rules and the in-house pipeline only appear for in-house and hybrid roles.
  • Hybrid orgs see a pipeline switcher on Stages and Emails — two pipelines, two sets of stages and emails, edited separately.
