Intake channels

How the repair came in (email, phone, walk-in) and how channels appear in reporting.

In-houseForward-onlyHybrid

An intake channel records how the repair came in — phone, email, walk-in, website. They help you keep track of where work comes from and give you business insights over time.

Defaults

Every new business starts with two channels: Email and Phone Call. Use them as-is, rename them, or add your own — whatever matches how repairs actually reach you.

Managing channels

Channels are managed in Settings → Forms, under the Intake Channels card. You can:

  • Add a new channel.
  • Rename an existing one.
  • Hide a channel from new repairs. If existing repairs still use it, the channel is archived — those repairs keep their label and history; only new repairs stop seeing it.

How custom fields use channels

Custom intake fields can be scoped to specific channels — "Walk-in only" can ask for a different set of details than "Web form". Field scoping is set per custom field in Settings → Forms.

Channels are not used for automation or routing — they don't decide where a repair goes or which supplier it's sent to.
