About RepairStep

Building the systemwe wish we had.

RepairStep is repair-management software for the businesses that actually do the work — the distributors who fix the products and the stores who take them in from customers.

For most businesses, repairs aren’t the main job — they’re the bit that has to happen when a product comes back. So the system for handling them rarely gets designed; it grows.

Most repair operations run on a patchwork of emails, spreadsheets and scribbled notes. Nobody set out to build it that way. It just accumulated — one workaround at a time — until tracking a repair from intake to return became its own full-time job.

We started building RepairStep because we got tired of watching good businesses lose hours every week to the paperwork of repairs — and lose customers when the paperwork dropped one.

RepairStep keeps every detail of every repair on one page — customer, product, status, photos, emails, the full activity log. Every stage change auto-emails the customer a tracking link. Pre-repair questions get caught early instead of becoming work. And every connected store and supplier sees the same source of truth, so the team stops chasing each other and the customer stops chasing the team.

We’re not trying to replace the people doing the work. We’re trying to give them software that fits the way they actually work, instead of one they have to work around.

What we believe

How we think about the product.

Software should fit you, not the other way around.

Stages, intake forms, email templates and branding all get configured to match how your business operates. Not the other way around.

Your data is yours.

We hold it for you. We don't sell it, mine it for marketing, or train AI on it. You can export or delete it any time.

The customer experience matters.

Your customer doesn't care that the repair is being done by a supplier. They care that they know what's going on and can reach the business they bought from. RepairStep keeps that experience clean.

Easy to learn, not dumbed down.

The product should make sense in an afternoon. It still has to handle the real stages, forms and customer flows your business actually uses — configured your way, not ours.
