Do you do repairs, or pass them on?

Stores take products in and pass them on. Distributors repair products and carry the warranty. Both have a process to manage - and each needs software that works the way they do.

For Stores

You sit between your customer and the distributor. Taking the product in, passing it on, and keeping the customer in the loop. You don't do repairs.

  • Send repairs to any supplier - even if they don't use RepairStep
  • Customer tracking page and branded emails
  • Capture repairs from walk-ins, your website, or your Shopify store

For Distributors

Stores, resellers and customers bring products to you to be repaired. You do the repair, carry the warranty, and invoice for the work.

$39per month
  • Unlimited repairs and returns
  • Assess products, record your findings and notify the customer
  • Customer tracking page and branded emails
  • Capture repairs from walk-ins, your website, or your Shopify store
  • Full history of every repair - messages, notes and documents
  • Trackable barcode labels for every returned product
  • Print the documents that go with the product - from the customer and back to them
  • Submit warranty claims to your manufacturers
  • Manage demo stock, product registrations and open-box units

In every plan

Everything you need to handle repairs, whatever you sell.

Store or Distributor, free or paid - these come standard on every plan.

  • Every detail of every repair, in one place

Open any repair and everything is there - customer, product, status, warranty, notes and messages.

  • Every action lives on the repair itself

Send an email, log a note, set a task, attach a photo, reply to the customer. All without leaving the repair.

  • Customers get updated automatically

When a repair moves forward, the customer gets an emailed link to their tracking page - so they can see progress without phoning you to ask.

  • Your stages, your forms, your branding

Rename the stages, design the forms, brand the emails - RepairStep fits your process, not the other way around.

  • What's in, what's stuck, what's trending

A live view of the workload - every open repair, anything overdue or gone quiet, and how this week compares to the last.

  • When it's not actually broken

Sometimes the fix is a page in the manual. A reply takes a minute. Booking in a product that was fine costs everyone a week.

FAQ

Still have questions?

Do I have to choose between Store and Distributor?
Not really. When a product comes in, do you fix it yourself and charge for the work? Then you're a Distributor. Do you pass it on to whoever's responsible? Then you're a Store. They're two different jobs - and RepairStep works differently for each.
What if I do repairs on some products and forward others?
Then you're a distributor for some products, and a store or reseller for others - you're both. Sign up as a Distributor and the store features are there to switch on too, at no extra cost.
What happens when I use up my 20 free repairs?
You keep getting 5 free repairs every month, for as long as you like. If repairs are a bigger part of your week than that, subscribe. Either way, everything you've already taken on - repairs, photos, notes, customer details, emails - stays fully accessible. Nothing gets archived, hidden or locked.
What if I start as a Store but later become a Distributor?
Switch on in-house repair in your settings and you move to Distributor. The store tools stay; the repair tools switch on. You can move back the same way.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No annual contracts and no lock-in. Cancel from your billing settings and you keep your plan until the end of the current billing period.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Sign up, take on your first 20 repairs and use every feature before deciding.
How does billing work if I'm on Shopify?
If you install RepairStep via Shopify, your subscription bills through your Shopify account so you only have one invoice to track. Otherwise we bill your card directly.
