For Shopify stores

A return comes back. What happens next?

Restock it, resell it as open box, repair it, or send it back to the supplier. All on one queue in RepairStep, filled automatically from your Shopify store - ready for your decision.

Free to start. No credit card required.

The returns queue

Every return, three choices.

Decide what happens to each return - RepairStep handles the processes, helping you sell it, fix it, or claim it back.

Unopened?

Back to stock

Nothing wrong with it - back on the shelf to sell as new.

Opened or used?

Grade it, resell it

Grade the unit and list it automatically on your own store at a discount. This is where the money comes back.

Faulty?

Claim it, or repair it

Send it to your supplier as a warranty claim, or book it in for repair. Either way, the whole process runs in RepairStep and the customer stays in the loop.

Connected to your store

The queue fills itself.

Process a return in Shopify and it appears here - product, order, reason and refund attached. Choose what happens next, and RepairStep manages the process from there.

Took something back over the counter, or outside Shopify’s returns flow? That works too - the queue is a head start, not a requirement.

What your customers see.

Open box offers appear on the standard product page. The discounted price draws price-conscious buyers, and the grade, description and any photos explain the condition.

A deal for a buyer who wouldn’t have paid full price, a sale you wouldn’t otherwise have made.

More than returns

Returns are just the start.

When a unit is faulty, a real process starts - a supplier claim or a repair - and the software running it is a full repair system, built in, not a returns feature.

Manage customer repairs

The details arrive with the repair request.

  • Customers start the repair from their order - product and purchase details already attached
  • The whole repair on one page: photos, notes, emails, supplier replies
  • Customers watch progress on their own tracking page - no "any update?" calls

FAQ

Still have questions?

Where do open box offers appear?
On the normal product page - the same page your customers already visit, with the open box option shown next to buying new. Each listed unit also gets its own open box product page, created automatically.
How do I add it to my product page?
A once-off step: in your theme editor, add the RepairStep open box block to your product template and save. Your theme and layout stay exactly as they are.
What about repairs - how do customers request one?
Switch on the Request Repair button in RepairStep and customers can start a repair from their order history. Leave it off and nothing changes on your store.
Do returns have to go through Shopify's returns flow?
No. Returns you process in Shopify appear in the queue automatically. Anything else - a counter return, a unit from another channel - you add directly, with the same choices. The queue is a head start, not a requirement.
What does it cost?
The account is free - grading and managing open box stock cost nothing. Listing to your store is free for your first 5 listings, then $9 per month - and included at no extra cost on the Store and Distributor plans.

Whatever comes back, handled.
